JULY 2017 COUNCIL MEETING DATE CHANGE DUE TO LEGAL HOLIDAY AND PLANNING AND ZONING PUBLIC HEARING    

  1. Notice is hereby given that the Hokah City Council meeting for July 2017 has been changed from July 4th. to July 11th. 2017 The time of the meeting is 6:00 P.M.  

  2. The Hokah Planning and Zoning Comm. will conduct a Public Hearing to consider Request for Variance by Randy and Sandy Munson. Date of Hearing, July 11, 2017.    The time of the hearing is 5:30 P.M.  

These meetings will be held at the Hokah Fire Station located at 9 Mill Street, Hokah, MN 55941. The public is encouraged to attend and participate.

The Hokah City Council again found itself debating a parking measure for the Main Street municipal lots after discovering that its October vote did not conform to State Statutes.

City Attorney Skip Wieser informed the Council that with a quorum of five officials, three affirmative votes would be needed for ratification. With Mayor Mike Walsh abstaining, the October move tallied only two votes in favor, thus falling one short and putting the parking matter on hold.....

Community Church of Hokah will receive some compensation for its extraordinarily high water bill it received due to an unusually high meter reading. The Hokah City Council came to the decision at its June 3 meeting following a request from church member Ken Ducke, who told councilors about the issue, as well as problems it had with frozen pipes and the church’s attempt to correct it. ....read more

Hokah council turns down apartment request
